Artist Bio

Julia’s background in interpreting and translation has given her a finely tuned ear for language, accents and nuance, while her additional French and Italian-accented English skills open up even more possibilities behind the mic. She has a particular love of animation and children’s content, where her lively performance style and strong comic instincts really come into their own.

Julia trained at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and later completed specialist training in microphone technique and dubbing in Berlin. Her work spans commercial, corporate, educational, character and ADR projects, with previous clients including FedEx, EFPIA, LEGO Duplo Stories and Samsung.

In my first interpreting class at uni, students were simply instructed to "tell the story". The professor played a children's animation, thinking it obvious that the task was to do the narration. Reacting to what I saw, I immediately dubbed all the characters, the little mole, the mouse, the gardener etc. My professor had to stop the session over fits of laughter!
