Artist Bio
Kate Powell’s voiceover journey began one Christmas morning in the 1990s when she unwrapped a Talkboy Voice Recorder – yes, the one from Home Alone 2! What followed was a steady stream of homemade radio shows, commercials, audiobooks, songs and questionable character voices, all dutifully recorded onto cassette tapes and shared with anyone willing to listen.
Born and bred in the South Wales valleys, Kate trained in Musical Theatre at the Guildford School of Acting and Associated Studios in London. Since then, her career has taken her from UK theatre tours to cruise ships travelling the world, as well as work across screen and voiceover.
Kate’s voice is warm, friendly and reassuring, with a natural instinct for storytelling and character creation. Away from the microphone, she’s also a writer and can usually be found developing new creative projects – though she’d probably still be quite happy recording them onto a cassette tape if given the chance.
