Artist Bio
Originally from Edinburgh, Polly moved to London at 16 where the first job she landed was selling feather boas on Portabello Road Market, two to Kylie Minogue on her first day! But her adventures in haberdashery where short lived and after a few Wild West London years she went to Bristol University where she graduated with a first class degree in Film Theatre and TV and so began her acting career.
Her stage work has taken her across the UK and beyond, with London credits including the National Theatre, Shakespeare’s Globe, The Royal Court, The Bush, Soho Theatre, The Lyric Hammersmith, The Arcola, and even London’s West End and Broadway in New York.
As a voice actor, Polly is celebrated for her warmth, versatility, and playful edge. Her credits span radio drama, narration, games, and animation, whilst her commercial work includes long-running campaigns for HIVE, Scotmid Funerals, and Mitsubishi.
She plays the lead in award-winning true crime drama Cold Tapes, which won Best Fiction at the British Podcast Awards 2025, and won a commendation as runner-up for Podcast of the Year.
Polly’s natural voice is a warm Scottish accent, though she can effortlessly switch to RP and a wide range of character voices. Beyond performing, she works independently in script editing and development, dividing her time between work, trips to Scotland, rescuing the odd feral cat, and being (in her words) “very bad at gardening.”
