Artist Bio

For Shocka, using his voice has always been about more than simply being heard. It’s about making an impact. Also known as Kenneth Erhahon, he first made his mark as one-third of grime collective Marvell alongside Double S and Vertex, before his own experiences with mental health began to shape a new chapter in his creative work.

Music became a way to open up honest conversations around mental health, identity, self-worth and positivity. His 2018 single Self Love reflected his personal journey and his belief in learning to value and appreciate yourself, while his debut album Impact Over Numbers explored subjects including mental health and friendship.

That message has travelled far beyond his music. As a mental health advocate, Shocka has spoken on the TED stage and appeared as a guest on numerous talk shows, using his own experiences to encourage conversations that can sometimes be difficult to start.

Whether he’s rapping, writing, performing spoken word or stepping behind the mic, Shocka brings lived experience, emotional honesty and a genuine desire to connect with the person listening.
