Tyler Hyrchuk

Artist Bio

Tyler Hyrchuk’s voiceover career started with a microphone, a stack of commercial scripts and a slightly belated realisation: if he was writing all these ads, why not write some for himself? After more than a decade in radio broadcasting as a copywriter, crafting commercials, promos and sponsor breaks, Tyler made the leap into voiceover – and quickly discovered a particular love for outlandish concepts and quirky scripts that let him play more than one voice.

Since then, he’s been a brand voice for FreshCo, the Vancouver Aquarium and the Canadian Automobile Association, alongside campaigns for Chevrolet, Febreze and Instacart. On screen, he voices Evu the Emu and Otis the Polar Bear in TVO/PBS’s educational animated series Mia and Codie, while his gaming credits include Warhounds, HoverGrease 2 and Pulsar Crash.

A trained improviser, Tyler also has a real passion for making audio accessible, having narrated dozens of audiobooks for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) and the Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA). He now passes on his experience as a voiceover and voice acting instructor in Canada, teaching both online and in person, as well as coaching performers independently.
