Artist Bio
Originally from the North-East of England, Miriam has been living in London for over twenty years. She moved to follow her dreams of becoming a movie star and although she hasn’t managed to snog Keanu Reeves in a film yet(!), she is still passionate about telling stories. Being mixed race, Miriam has a unique perspective of the world. Her Dad is from the beautiful island of Mauritius, and her Mum is from soggy Scotland – both heritages influence her storytelling.
Miriam’s voiceover career spans charity campaigns, audio dramas, explainer videos, and immersive art installations. One highlight was Inside Stories with artist Alexa Wright at the Saatchi Gallery, where she lent her voice to prisoners who couldn’t speak. She has also voiced for the Just Giving Celebrity Awards, Alzheimer’s Research Society campaigns, and The Fashion and Textile Children’s Trust. Her voice is often praised for its soothing quality, earning her fans among older audiences and sleep app listeners alike.
In addition to voice acting, Miriam is a professional writer. Her play is available in the National Theatre bookshop, she has a children’s show on TV, and her poetry has been featured by the BBC for World Poetry Day. A lover of adventure, she’s currently learning to sail, narrowly avoiding collisions with canoes, seagulls, and the occasional capsizing – ever on the path to fulfilling her pirate dreams and hunting for hidden treasure!
