Artist Bio
Joanne is a dynamic voice actor with a youthful, expressive sound and an instinctive ear for character and comedy. On stage, she’s played everything from Shakespearean heroines to playful panto leads – favourites include Viola in Twelfth Night, Daphne in Present Laughter, and Wendy in Peter Pan. Joanne is also a trained jazz vocalist, which brings a natural musicality and rhythm to her delivery.
Her voice is warm, clear and characterful, with a sharp ear for accents and vocal mimicry. Raised in rural North Norfolk by a Cockney mum and a Scottish dad, she has a natural facility with voices from all over the UK – and beyond. Whether it’s a grounded commercial read, an eccentric animation character or something totally off the wall, Joanne approaches every brief with curiosity, playfulness and professionalism.
Also a comedy writer and short film creator, she’d love to fuse her passions by working more in animated voiceover and sketch-style reads. Secret dreams? Becoming the voice that tells you what’s coming up next on the telly…or nabbing a guest role on The Archers as a wandering vet.
