Steve Gouws

Artist Bio

People often tell Steven, “I love your energy!” — and it’s no accident. He has a genuine love of life, and that joy and curiosity shine through in every read. His voice has been described as cool, earthy, smooth, trustworthy, and versatile, with a range that can shift from bright and cheerful to deep, gravelly, and punchy. His flexibility, paired with his natural authenticity, means he adapts effortlessly to different genres and styles.

His love of storytelling began early, from poetry recitals at school to epic Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, and later carried through to his career as a language teacher – where he spent 15 years captivating classrooms with stories, humour, and energy.

Away from the mic, Steven is a proud dad who loves reading bedtime stories to his daughter, improvising characters, and performing short and long-form improv.
